The Impala was first introduced in 1958 as the top-of-the-line trim level of the Bel Air. A year later the Impala became a stand-alone model. Throughout the '60s, the Impala dominated the sales charts, culminating in 1965 when over 1 million were sold. The 2006 version boasts new sheetmetal, an all-new, more versatile interior and a host of engine choices round out this stalwart Chevy nameplate. The big news is the return of V8 power to the Impala SS.
